While the US health system was not designed for or by women, women’s health is starting to make real headway. Over the past decade, there has been a 1,000% increase in the number of businesses in the space, according to FemHealth Insights research. In 2023 alone, the women’s health sector raised $1.14B across 120 deals.

It often seems as though women’s health companies have founders and senior team members who have experienced the problem that they’re solving for, whether it’s infertility, pelvic pain, or PCOS. So, in honor of International Day of Action for Women’s Health, Rescripted is highlighting women’s health mavericks who have taken action to better the health and wellness of women everywhere by turning their pain into purpose.
