What’s your women’s health ‘thing?’

At Beli, our focus on women’s health revolves around providing essential nutrient support at every stage of the motherhood journey, starting from preconception. We recognize a significant gap in quality, science-backed products tailored for women who are preparing for pregnancy. Our preconception vitamins are designed to optimize women’s health before pregnancy, ensuring they receive the nutrients necessary for a healthy reproductive system. As they transition through pregnancy and into postnatal stages, our products continue to support their evolving needs with the highest quality ingredients. Our commitment is to offer trusted, effective supplements that are often missing in the market, helping mothers and their babies achieve optimal health.

How has your women’s health ‘thing’ affected you throughout your life?

In 2018, I learned that there has been little to no innovation in the vitamin market in decades and no regulation to ensure product integrity. I never considered that the products I took to nurture me, my husband, and my three babies might be doing more harm than good. Everyone has their own pregnancy journey, but our end goal is always the same: healthy babies. My own journey resulted in the 3 loves of my life, but it was mired with my own stories of miscarriage and breastfeeding issues. Most couples are now having children later in life and fertility challenges are on the rise. I noticed all my friends had their own jagged path to pregnancy and we would look to each other for support and recommendations. Modern science is changing the way we approach fertility and pregnancy, and Beli is proud to be on the precipice of empowering everyone on their own path to parenthood by helping couples be the healthiest they can be to create, grow, and welcome a new little life.

What advice would you give to someone dealing with your same women’s health ‘thing?’

Honestly, that fertility health is not just a women’s thing. We embarked on a journey to develop a line of science-backed prenatal vitamins tailored for women, but along the way, our research team stumbled upon a significant realization: what about men? Could a prenatal vitamin formulated to enhance sperm health potentially impact male fertility, pregnancy, and the baby's well-being? In essence, the answer is a resounding yes. Just as women benefit from specific nutrients in precise quantities for optimal fertility, men do too. Remarkably, a deficiency in nutrients often underlies sperm-related issues. Additionally, it's crucial to recognize that a man's health doesn't just influence the likelihood of a successful conception but also plays a role in his partner's pregnancy and the future health of their child. In summary, it's a critical factor. Today, the concept of men's prenatal vitamins is gaining traction. More companies are acknowledging that pregnancy involves both partners, and ensuring they both receive the necessary nutrients for optimal fertility is paramount. This shift is long overdue. While infertility has historically been perceived as a woman's problem, it's evident that it affects both genders. Normalizing the idea of optimizing fertility for both partners marks a significant step forward and honestly, a game changer for a lot of couples.
