Metformin is a medication that is most often used in the treatment of diabetes but which has been proven to assist women who are suffering from PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) or who have high levels of insulin. When a women has higher levels of insulin, a side effect of PCOS, it can cause the growth of follicles to be stunted and make ovulation more difficult.
