The Egg Quality Diet is the culmination of what Aimee Raupp has found, during her two decades of clinical practice, to be the most effective nutritional approach to optimizing fertility. This diet has been proven to work not in a randomized control trial (RCT) but in real life, on thousands of real women like you. Real women who have been told they have no good eggs left or they are too old or they are in menopause. This diet has been proven in women with high follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), low anti-mullerian hormones (AMH), recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), multiple failed in-vitro fertilizations (IVF) and intrauterine inseminations (IUI). This diet has been proven in women with endometriosis, poly-cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, cysts, adenomyosis, asherman’s syndrome, premature ovarian failure (POF) and hypothalamic amenorrhea. This diet has helped hundreds of women, even those in their mid to late forties, make healthy babies using their own eggs. This diet has helped women bring their FSH from above 50 down to 10. This diet has helped women double, even triple their AMH. Even more, this diet has been recommended by multiple reproductive endocrinologists (R.E.) to their clients.

Update: After nearly a year of following the diet, I am pleased to report that my FSH level is 3 despite being 38 years old! In July 2021, my FSH was 17 and I am convinced that this diet was a contributing factor along with the addition of an acupuncturist in reversing this statistic. I also switched to Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil, as recommended by Aimee, and I learned how to be my own fertility advocate. The information Aimee provides in her books and live streams led me to insist on a full thyroid panel with antibodies, which revealed that I have Hashimoto’s. I have now been prescribed Synthroid to mitigate the strain on my thyroid. Her guidance is an invaluable resource for anyone struggling on their path to motherhood. Regarding the “strictness” of the diet, I must confess that I do not have a puritanical adherence to this diet and Aimee does not advocate for that. To the contrary, Aimee encourages participants to extend grace and compassion inward when you falter on the diet or in times when adhering to the diet is impossible. It is important to remember that the objective of this diet is to improve your overall health and to help you identify the food sensitivities underpinning your fertility challenges. Many food sensitivities have a direct correlation to auto immune conditions and identifying the foods that trigger inflammation is a necessary part of the process. The book has editing issues that need to be corrected; however, I purchased this book to improve my egg quality, which my RE has stated is my sole barrier to pregnancy. Aimee has made it very easy to make diet compliant substitutions that have transformed these meal plans from a diet to a lifestyle change. My acupuncturist approved of the meal plans and has encouraged me to continue eating this way once I complete the 100 days. I started Phase 3 yesterday and I’m loving the food, but best of all I feel amazing. Thank you Aimee for streamlining this transition to healthy eating and I look forward to updating this review soon with wonderful news of a healthy pregnancy.

Do yourself a favor and go buy yourself a copy of this book. It’s such a wealth of knowledge that all women should have access to (even those who aren’t currently trying to get pregnant). It amazes me about how much we don’t know or didn’t learn about our bodies growing up and she’s really shined the light on how to nourish and support ourselves. I’ve done 3 of her Body Belief Reboot programs and was able to get awesome quality (+ tested!!) embryos via IVF. It doesn’t even feel like a super restrictive diet – very easy to follow the way she has it laid out for you.

I started this diet four months ago, and most important: I feel a lot better than when I started, but I was also shocked to see that my AMH levels increased from .4 shortly before I started, to 1.3 ng/mL now (!). I also conceived naturally about 2 months in, and had an early miscarriage... so while this isn't a fertility miracle, my lab results and how I feel in body make me feel that it's effective at lowering inflammation and improving overall health, at the very least.

The diet itself is almost exactly the same as the more extreme elimination diet in Dr. Will Cole's "Inflammation Spectrum" book, and it's based off of the AIP diet... but I think there are some really worthwhile nuggets in Aimee's book that are specific to fertility. She talks about liver detoxification (and has a recipe for a liver detox smoothie/juice) and specific macronutrient balance that is linked to improved fertility outcomes. She also provides a pretty decent number of recipes and inspirations for food, which is very helpful when you're on such a limited diet! I referred to both books and other resources for ideas.

If I could do this diet again, I probably would have skipped or modified the liquid-only phase. It just wasn't enough calories for me and I was kind of a hangry mess for the entire duration... the level of stress and moodiness during that phase just didn't seem like a good trade-off to make. I kind of wish that there were some modifications offered for this phase in the book for folks who need them.

I'm giving it 4/5 stars because of some editing and usability issues with this book. Other commenters have already brought up typos, etc. ... for me, better indexing would be really helpful, as there's no easy way to find recipes other than flipping through the book. And while there are lots of great print-able resources that you can download from her website, even those could be made a little more user-friendly... I ended up creating my own sheets to print out and post on the fridge to remember what I could/couldn't have in different phases when I was still adjusting to the diet.

I bought Aimee's Yes, You Can Get Pregnant book earlier this year and this one as soon as it came out. Both are great books. I did not even notice the editorial mistakes some people mentioned in other reviews. I lost since I started following the diet 10 pounds (which I gained earlier in the pandemic), my congestion and migraine is better and the bloating is gone. I also saw the improvements in my FSH and follicle count. The change of diet and life style can be challenging at first but I got used to it and I am proud of the changes I have made. Thank you Aimee and team Aimee!

5.0 out of 5 stars Extensive recipes, shopping lists and meal plans
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 17, 2021
I bought this to support my health and fertility journey. I follow Aimee on her social channels and her approach, passion and commitment to helping women reach their goals is like nothing I have seen before. I own 2 of her other books which are great. The best thing about this book is the tonne of research that has gone into it, knowing what I do about straight talking, ethical and compassionate Aimee means I can relax and trust the contents. She's made it as easy as it could be, but let's be real you are going to be preparing what you eat for 100 days, which may need a shift in your mindset, the sense of accomplishment when we do that is so high and inspiring in itself. The way you eat will find a new normal, and I believe your body, mind and spirit will thank you, you will feel better for investing in yourself. The diet is an elimination protocol and you add back stuff from day 50. I whole heartedly recommend this book and wish you immense goodness towards your goal to start a family.

3.0 out of 5 stars The diet needs very committed individuals
Reviewed in Australia on August 2, 2021
I follow Aimee regularly and admire her greatly. Besides the editing errors mentioned by other readers (eg recipes section appearing to be in alphabetical order with some recipes out of whack, a reference to page x without a number and shopping lists not matching the recipes for the week), the diet is extremely hard to follow. I get its objectives but the first few weeks I was constantly hungry (and even hangry!). You really need to like sweet potato and coconut as this seems all that’s allowed initially. Time will tell if this diet works. The book is also very US focused, many snacks are not available internationally.

5.0 out of 5 stars This diet has worked for me!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 4, 2021
I purchased this book as I was looking for ways to improve egg quality. In the last 3 years I've had 3 miscarriages and 2 failed ivf cycles, where both times my embryos failed to reach blastocyst stage. I have seen numerous medical professionals and have been diagnosed with raised NK cells. From all my medical assessments and history I was starting to put together in my head what I thought was wrong with me but this booked really helped me connect the dots. I loved Aimee's positive attitude, her explanations as to why this pattern was happening to me and the solutions. I have been on the diet for 2 months and I'm 5 weeks pregnant naturally! I can't say for sure this book made the difference or that this pregnancy will go the distance but I feel very strongly that this book and all the tips were the difference. If you are suffering fertility issues and are unsure where to turn next this book is a must read!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Missing a lot of recipes & a number of errors
Reviewed in Canada on May 27, 2022
I was excited to get this book after hearing the author speak on the food, freedom and fertility podcast.
I just received it and am leaving this review without trying the program (all should understand before buying it is an elimination diet and will be challenging).
I am quite frustrated reading through the meal plans in the different phases - no page references to the recipes, not all items have recipes I.e butternut squash soup. Is it expected these items are bought with the Guidance in mind?
There are a lot of errors, missing page references where there is a ? In place of a number, repetitions, missing quantities.
are the shopping lists enough for the recipes listed (enough for the servings or just for 1 person)?
A lot of good information but for how highly she talked of her book I’m surprised by these. She doesn’t have a lot of the support online perhaps there is more info there
